Information for Outside Investigators

If you wish to recruit participants for your study on any of the University of Connecticut campuses, you must first contact the Office of Research Compliance/IRB to request permission. Consistent with the Federal Regulations and with the UConn policies on research with human subjects, the IRB will decide what type of review is appropriate, based on the risk to participants from the procedures employed in the research. At minimum, you will have to submit a complete copy of the protocol, the consent form, advertisements and other relevant materials documenting IRB approval from your institution. The UConn IRB reserves the right to require a Full Board Review of studies involving greater than minimal risk to UConn students and employees.

If you have a University of Connecticut Co-Investigator, follow the guidelines outlined on the IRB website at: http://www.irb.uconn.edu/review_process.html

For additional Information, call the Office of Research Compliance at: 860-486-8802 or 486-4164.
